Earthquakes as a Form of Divine Punishment.

In Islamic tradition, earthquakes are seen as a form of divine punishment for the sins of the people .

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is reported to have said, “Whenever people become neglectful of their duties towards Allah. He makes the earth swallow them.” This means that earthquakes are a reminder for people to return to the path of righteousness and to turn back to Allah.

The Influence of People’s Actions on Earthquakes

It is important to note that earthquakes are not a direct result of the actions of individual people. (وَمَا أَصَابَكُمْ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَنْ كَثِيرٍ ) but rather a manifestation of the will of Allah. However, the frequency and severity of earthquakes can be influenced by the collective actions of people. For example, if people engage in sinful and immoral behavior. It can increase the likelihood of natural disasters such as earthquakes.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_earthquakes_in_the_Levant
